The Second Time Around - Question #2

Do you think Carly was right to stick up for her step-sister?

  1. Yes kind of because she didn't know the truth yet. I felt like Carly was staying on her side and close to her mostly because she questioned her involvement in Nick's death.

  2. I think the way Carly went about representing her step-sister's interest was good. She told everyone she wanted to know the truth about Nick and that she was going to do all she could to find it. She also told everyone she wouldn't hide what she found. That way, people could interpret her involvement however they chose, but she let them know that she was like an independent outside observer. I think that was wise.

  3. Yes. I think that at first she didn't have any reason not to, really. I guess she hadn't really liked her in the past, but she didn't have any evidence that at first suggested she shouldn't. I think it was good of her to at least keep herself uncommitted either way until she had enough information. It would have been super bad for her to have accused her and had it come out that she was completely innocent. I guess I believe in giving everyone the benefit of the doubt.
In our house we call that the "She might be pregnant and on her way to the hospital" way of thinking!

  4. I think she was right as well. I think it was good that she was straight forward with the press about wanting to find the truth and then to make sure Carly knew that that was what she wanted too.

  5. She was right to be nice to her but the whole time reading the book I just wanted Carly to tell her off. I didn't like the step-sister at all!
