The Gable Faces East - Question #3

3- This is another girl power book. Alexa is such a strong, powerful woman with a commanding presence as well as a tender soft side. How, if at all, did you relate to Alexa?

  1. Though she was often blunt and forward and strong-willed with Jess, Alexa was also very kind and concerned about Jess, Richard and the other men on the ranch. I think I relate to Alexa in not wanting to see others taken advantage of or hurt by the disregard or uncaring attitude of others. I probably tend to want to help others feel good about life and about themselves.

  2. I realated to Alexa in how she stuck up for herself in the man's world she was surrounded by. I enjoy putting my hat in the ring with others when I may be considered an "underdog". I liked how she had the courage to say and do what she wanted and thought was best regardless of what the outcome might have been.

  3. I liked her a lot. I think that she was really good - for the most part - at not letting the feelings of the moment define her actions. I would hope that I would act the same way in similar circumstances. I also really loved how she treated her co-workers, and even Jess in the middle of all of his troubles. She was genuine

  4. Like Alexa, I also like to play the piano and do things that aren't always super "girly". She was also very kind and a good friend. Other than that I feel like I'm pretty different from her because I would never marry someone I didn't love, especially when I love someone else so much. I get it but she's crazy.
